#22- Sick

Tuesday January 25, 2011: Today is Fate Day. I woke up not feeling too hot, got ready for my shower, got in the bathroom and started throwing up :(. It was nasty. Just to give you a really gross thought about it, the night before I ate some pizza and red velvet cake. So feeling like you know what, we picked up the other guys in Shaffer and got to the church. By this time I've thrown up twice, both times it was all the water that I've had. "Thats it!! I'm not going to drink any more water!!," I looked horrible. My new companion is Elder Turley he's a really cool guy. After dropping off Shaffer we went home. There I slept for 15 hours till the next morning. On Wednesday I felt great!!!

Thursday January 27, 2011 & Friday January 28, 2011: I was having back and leg pain. Horrible week so far. The pain wasn't external it was internal. It felt like my bones were in pain. Last time I felt it I was having growing pains. I don't want to get any taller.

Sunday January 30, 2011: Kevin, an investigator on date, came to church!!! It was awesome. We were so happy. He's pretty excited for his baptismal date. I'm Super stoked for it. Danielle's grandpa is in the hospital so we went to see him cuz everybody was sick. He is an awesome 85 year old man. We saw him on Thursday because sister Bazzel asked us to come by. He told us, while we were there (just elder Turley and I), that he just got back from Florida yesterday and that he was there for like 5 days by himself. We saw him 3 days ago and he wasn't in Florida but SHHHH!!! he doesn't know that;). Your mind wonders when you're that old. He is really cool.

Sorry I haven't had any crazy stories lately. I'll get one sooner or later.

#22- Lots of Lessons

WOW!!! The weeks just fly by!!! It's crazy, and I love it!

Monday January 17, 2011: So I know that I alredy said something for this day but I forgot to say, while in Downtown Detroit we got to ride on the People Mover. It's like the Lightrail, kinda. It's one track with a few different cabs, 50 cents to ride and you're suspended like 2 stories up or something like that(15 feet maybe). Then the Auto Show, super cool.

We taught a lot of people this week it was really nice. We had 3 investigator lessons. Two of them were on Saturday January 22, 2011: We were on exchanges, Elder Kirkman came here to Livonia. Like I said, two of our investigator lessons were today and guess what? We got them both on date. They are both shooting for Febuary 26. I hope all goes well:) Later this evening we got our FATE call, transfers........I'm staying in Livonia and Elder Fogth is leaving. I don't know where he's going, but we'll find out on Tuesday.

Nothing much happened except for teaching people on the other days. We've been pretty busy lately. I think that's one reason the week went by so fast.

#21- Missionaries Can Go Sledding!

Had a really cool week!!!

Monday January 10, 2011: After our Preparation Day time, we went to a funeral. It's my second one out here and I didn't know the person. I've only been out for 4 1/2 weeks, that's kinda crazy if you ask me.

Thursday January 13, 2011: We were getting ready to teach Danielle when she called and said, "I'm stranded at my parent's house. My car won't start!" So we went to The Bazzell's house and helped Danielle jump her car which eventualy worked. After we taught her, we used our break time to go sledding! It was AWESOME!!!! I'm sending another card home soon so you can see the videos I got from it. I built a jump at the bottom of the hill. It was super hard to get the sled to go straight, but after many failed attempts I finally went off of it a few times. It was small but super fun!:)

Saturday January 15, 2011: We went to teach Kevin tonight and when we got there he let us in. There was someone else there too, her name is Ann. Ann and her husband moved in and are Kevin & Ilura's new roommates. Ann sat in the lesson as we taught the Restoration. Half way through the lesson Ann's husband got home and sat in the rest of the lesson. At the end all three of them accepted the commitment to read and pray. Hope this is a good turn around point:)

Monday January 17, 2011: The reason that I didn't email yesterday is becaues I was super busy. We went to the Auto Show!!! It was super awesome. We saw tons of the new 2011 models and some 2012 ones. It was amazing. I got to see some of my dream cars too!!! Mercedes Benz AMG SLS, Mazda RX8, and Hyundai Genesis Coupe. After the car show we went to Greek town for lunch. Fun day, spent it all in Downtown Detroit. :)

#20- 20 Weeks Already?

Wow can you believe that I've been out for 20 weeks?!?!? Its gone by super fast.

Well once again its been a week with not that many fun and exciting things to share, but we have been teaching a lot of lessons to our less active group because our investigator list is getting smaller. But it's ok because we are still looking for new ones! We taught 3 investigator lessons this week and 19 less active member lessons. It's just as great to see some of our less active people wanting to come back to church.
Cindy, one of our less active members, has been coming to church every week for a few weeks now. She expressed that she's going to come to church every week. We've been teaching her and her kids once a week and she's making a lot of progress, which is awesome! Her mom, also less active, has been coming to church with her as well! It's great to see how the spirit works with people.

We've been tracting a lot this week and as a result we've found four potential investigators. We are praying and hoping that they will still be interested when we see them this week.

As far as crazy stories this last week, like the "Coca Cola Jesus Guy", I dont have any, or that I can remember. Dang I need to write down if something happened just in case if I forget. With all the stuff that I'm doing it's hard to remember. But I'm positive nothing crazy happened this last week.

I'll keep my eyes open for something to share next week, how's that?

I already have a Jesus!

We've been teaching a lot of less active lessons due to our lack of Investigators but we've also taught some of the ones that we have. So everything is still good:)

I do have one story of something that happened that I thought was hilarious:

- I was on an exchange with Elder Kirkman in Westland. We went to one of their less active members but he wasn't home so we started to tract part of that street. We came to this one house and I did the door approach.

"Hello, How are you today?" I said.

"What do you want!!!" He barked.

"We are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we are out today sharing a message about Jesus Christ and the love that he has for us...." He cut me off.

"What do you want?" he asked again.

"We are sharing a message about Jesus Christ." I stated again.

"Well I already have a Jesus, its called Coca Cola." He yelled as he shut the door.

Just a funny thing that happened, I think it made my day.

I'll leave it at that.

Monday December 20, 2010: Aside from being Preparation Day we went to Sister Moratz house and Dedicated it for her. It was a new experience. Also today is the Winter Solstice.

Tuesday December 21, 2010: Nothing to exciting, Shontae wanted us to come over to teach her something and also celebrate the rest of the Winter Solstice (its over at Midnight) It was another thing that was new and exciting.

Wednesday December 22, 2010: Most of the Day was spent at the Mission wide Christmas party, It was really great. Lots of musical numbers and some service and spirit. This evening we stopped by a potential that we tracted into yesterday and apparently she moved and didn't live there anymore. She moved in one day.

Friday December 24, 2010: Christmas Eve. Lots of appointments today. I’m not going to get in to detail but it was lots of fun.

Saturday December 25, 2010: Christmas Day. We went to the Beauchamp's house for breakfast and stayed for presents. They got me a really sweet Tie. It may be my favorite one right now. We also got a stocking From the ward, one of those 4 foot ones full of a bunch of stuff and junk food that I don’t need. I then got to call home!!!! It was GREAT, I'll leave it at that.

Thank you everyone who sent something to me this Christmas, It really made my Holiday.

My ear is hurts!

It’s Been a super full week, well kinda. It’s been a good week. Parts were slow, parts were fast, and parts were scary.

Monday December 13, 2010: You read last time what I did in the morning what you don’t know is what happened in the evening. We hung out with some other Missionaries due to Elder Edwards getting transferred; he wanted to hang one last time, so we did. Played some games, it was fun. The rest of the evening from about 6:30-9ish we were with The Beauchamp family from our ward, we were out caroling with them its was fun talked to a few people and enjoyed the super cold night.

Tuesday December 14, 2010: We went to Transfer Meeting today. Not because we were getting transferred but because we had to drive some other Missionaries. It was fun, about 3/4 of the mission was there so we got to see who got paired with who and where they were going. Other than that we did some teaching, always good times.

Thursday December 16, 2010: Besides teaching some less active and members we went to the Mission Fireside, which was super Awesome!!!

*Friday December 17, 2010: We had our weekly planning day and after that we had a lesson with a less active. In the evening, we had the full evening scheduled, the person that said he would come with us forgot and made other plans. The people we scheduled were mostly all single women, so we couldn't see any of them. But we compromised and had some other people to see so we went to do that, but that was soon messed up too because after leaving one of the houses where they weren’t home we were in a car accident. So a little detail of what happened. It was on the corner of Burt and Florence in Detroit. As we were driving through the intersection the dude hit our front right fender area (passenger side) and destroyed that part of the car. If he would have hit us 3-5 feet further back, I would have been T-boned and I don’t know what would have happened. We came to the Intersection and there was no stop sign so we went ahead. The other guy didn't have a stop sign either. We were going 10mph he was going 40mph (more than he should have). It was our fault because, the corner that we were at had a stop sign and we were supposed to stop. Wait a second we didn't have a stop sign to stop though!!! We came to find out that the stop sign and the pole were ripped out of the Ground. Nobody was hurt, except for my ear, but it just got hit with the air bag really hard.
